Exhibitions are held to showcase our member’s artwork and to spread awareness of plant species among the general public.
Through our exhibitions, the Society aims to motivate and inspire not just its own artists but art enthusiasts, environmentalists and all those who hold deep regard for nature.
Botanical artists produce their work after thorough study of the species which encompasses botany, morphology, growth habit, colour studies and in-situ sketching. The resulting art must be scientifically accurate and identifiable as the named species.
The most common mediums used are watercolour, pen and ink, graphite, colour pencils and gouache.
